Marus van der Made was born in Monster. He is both a visual artist and a designer. As a visual artist, he is self-taught. He began his career as a visual artist in 1978, initially working in both figurative and abstract styles. Later, he shifted his focus to geometric abstraction. He worked with materials such as aluminum, wood, Corian, and brass. He received commissions for museums, schools, town halls, businesses, institutions, and public spaces. For instance, he created wall reliefs for the town halls of Middelharnis and Hillegom, the police headquarters in The Hague, and the air traffic control building at Schiphol Airport. He also produced sculptures for Arcadis, GTI, and ITT/Alcatel. He was a member of the Haagse Kunstkring from 1977 to 1990. He has been a member of the Dutch Circle of Sculptors (Nederlandse Kring van Beeldhouwers) since 1985 and a member of Pulchri Studio The Hague since 2013.
