Rare set of ceramics by the Mexican artist Bernardo Zaldizar, a master potter from the 1960s in Mexico, specifically from the village of Tzintzuntzan, located in the north of the state of Michoacán. Most pieces from the same set are signed on the back with the initials BZ for Bernardo Zaldizar. Once a bustling city, Tzintzuntzan has evolved into a small community specialising in handmade pottery. The region is also home to the ancient ruins (yakatas) of five large temples. All pieces are handmade from clay and decorated with various animals, including fish hunting. This set includes: 4 round plates with a diameter of 22 cm. Height 2.5 cm. 1 deep plate with a diameter of 18 cm, height 5 cm. 1 oval dish measuring 32 cm in length x 24 cm in width x 5 cm in height. 2 cups/mugs with a height of 10 cm, diameter 9.5 cm; they are not perfectly round as they are handmade. There is a slight chip on one of the mugs, see photo. Total weight of the pieces: 5 kg 100. Set in excellent overall condition, with some signs of age but in very good condition. Slight chip on one of the mugs.
