Vintage french station clock - railway - factory shine. With glass and lighting. The frame is made of aluminum metal with glass - diameter 28.34"/ 72 cm. Fully restored and in perfect working order. Very good condition with normal signs related to his age. 1 closing piece is missing. It was in 1898 that charles vigreux and lucien brillié created a company manufacturing mechanical and electrical devices in levallois-perret. But very quickly, lucien brillié (engineer) will help his brother henri to create electric clocks: the brillié frères workshops were born. They are not the first to build an electric clock but will allow its democratization thanks to remote synchronization. The principle is simple, a mother clock could send an electrical impulse to 5, 10, 15 clocks. This ensured perfect synchronization and avoided the loss of time associated with winding clocks. Whether in france or abroad, many factories, stations, schools, etc. Will thus be equipped with this very innovative system. The brillié company will experience a strong period of growth in the 60s and 70s and will become the overwhelming leader of industrial watchmaking in france. However, the company struggled to adapt to technological developments and asian competition in the 80s and ceased operations in 1987.
