Maurice Walter Edmond Labatt de Lambert, known as Maurice de Lambert (1873-1952), was a French illustrator, painter, decorator, and engraver. A student of Gustave Moreau and Georges-Antoine Rochegrosse, he began in illustration with illuminations for two works: La Légende du Beau by Victor Hugo and Le Chevalier double by Théophile Gautier. He designed the sets for several Montmartre shows. He produced a large number of full-length portraits of actors for the publisher Manzi: Sarah Bernhardt, Sacha Guitry, Réjane, etc. His paintings are often exhibited in Paris and abroad. Lambert was also interested in the art of typography, designing vignettes for Grasset typefaces.
