Antique Victorian oak kneehole desk with 18 double-sided drawers.

We are delighted to offer for sale this Victorian English kneehole desk in antique oak, dating from around 1880. An absolutely stunning desk, truly very substantial and rare to find with the nine complete drawers on both sides; usually, they have cupboards at the front with drawers on top. This desk is a double pedestal, historically designed for two partners; however, when it comes to kneehole desks, it is more likely to be one partner and their secretary. The frame is made of solid oak with a rexine top showing a lovely brown patina. The drawers operate well and provide ample storage capacity. We have cleaned, waxed, and polished the frame from top to bottom, and it shows normal patina marks across the surface.
