A truly scandinavian modern freestanding wall unit called " ergo ", was designed by john texmon and einar blindheim for blindheim møbelfabrikk and crafted in norway in the 1960s. It is a beautifully balanced blend of form and function. This piece features slightly curved edges that lend warmth, while the sculptural vertical rails give it an elegant and architectural presence. It is made of light-tone teak wood, very appealing in smaller and larger spaces. Many stores in paris, tokyo, and london, use these shelving systems as a display unit for clothing, perfumes, or other goods. Perfect for private space as well. This shelving unit includes: two cabinets with drawers h: 40/ w: 78.5/ d: 33 cm; drawers inner height: 10 cm. One cabinet with sliding doors h: 40/ w: 78.5/ d: 33 cm. One upper cabinet with sliding doors h: 43/ w: 78.5/ d: 22 cm. 2 expository shelves for plates or vinyls. 3 shelves w: 78.5/ d: 21 cm. 2 flanked shelves w: 78.5/ d: 21 cm. 4 solid wood supports/ legs 203 cm long. Brass hardware. The unit has been carefully restored by our team. Due to its exceptional preservation, we only rejuvenated the wood with high-quality danish oil, enhancing the grain and preserving its natural patina. Excellent vintage condition with very light, age-appropriate wear. The teak has developed a rich patina, and the oiled finish highlights the natural beauty of the wood grain. The back of the cabinets is marked “made in norway”, confirming its authenticity and origin.
