Coffee table Étienne Fermigier, JER, around 1970

"Low Table" coffee table designed by Étienne Fermigier and published by J.E.R. In France around 1968-1970. It features a self-supporting base made of three folded sheets of stainless steel and its original circular top in smoked glass. The radial tripodal construction forms a sculptural, lightweight, and balanced base. Étienne Fermigier (1932-1973), trained at the École Boulle and ENSAD, co-founded the Galerie Meubles et Fonction with Pierre Perrigault and received the René-Gabriel prize in 1967. The model is held in the collections of the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Saint-Étienne Métropole. Overall good condition. Three copies available, sold individually.
