Antique 19th Century Primitive Weathered Painted Transport Chest

This antique transport chest made of pine wood was found during the purchase of an old local agricultural museum in the Franconian Lake District, Bavaria, southern Germany. The narrow, tall chest probably dates from the 19th century and was used until the 1970s by a greengrocer from Fürth. The chest has a beautifully worn character and signs of use that tell more than a hundred years of history. Especially on the lid, the paint has decoratively peeled off in places, making the wood grain beautifully visible. An authentic utility item with a lived-in character, which, thanks to its narrow size, fits perfectly in a hallway or smaller space. Sturdy enough to also be used as a seat.
