Brutalist coffee table in elm – 1970s

Rectangular coffee table made of solid elm, attributed to the 1970s. It bears the mark of Alain Duval, a cabinetmaker-manufacturer from Valognes, in Manche. Its architectural structure, composed of wide overlapping wooden beams, gives it a strong and sculptural silhouette. The thick top with softened corners reveals the warm hues and beautiful natural grain of the elm. A robust and unique French handcrafted piece that will bring a lot of character to an interior. Dimensions: L 100 × D 60 × H 48 cm. In good overall condition, with some signs of use consistent with its age.
