Alabaster bookend statuette

Pretty alabaster statuette in white and caramel tones representing a man seated sleeping with his head on his knees under his large hat. Or maybe crying about being all alone, because I imagine it's a bookend and there were probably two of them originally, but not sure. This statuette comes from the balearic islands and dates from the 70s. It is in good general condition but has some signs of its previous lives: small chips or chips on the corners of its base as well as on the edge of the hat. An original “defect” to note: veins of earth or other material come together to form a gap in the alabaster at the knee. And underneath, small spots of glue...perhaps the rest of the skates glued underneath, or an additional base. It measures 13 cm in height, 9.5 m in length, 9 cm in width (at the level of the hat) and weighs a little over 700g.
