Designed by Antonio Citterio for the Italian publisher Flexform in the 1980s, the “Scissor” armchair stands out for its elegant chrome steel structure with crossed lines, inspired by the principle of scissor legs that gives it its name. This airy and graphic design perfectly embodies the Italian aesthetic of the late modernism, blending visual lightness with comfort. The polished steel structure, with its taut and precise curves, supports a suspended seat made of textile straps. The armchair has just been reupholstered: all the straps have been completely renewed, in a textile inspired by prints from the late 1970s and early 1980s. The geometric pattern in yellow, green, and dark tones adds a graphic and very vintage touch, while remaining true to the spirit of the era. The soft seat naturally conforms to the body and offers remarkable comfort despite the slenderness of the structure. The contrast between the shine of the chrome and the richness of the textile gives this piece a presence that is both elegant and dynamic. The armchair measures 76 cm in height, 65 cm in width, and 75 cm in depth. In very good overall condition. Chrome structure in excellent condition and straps completely redone, ready for many years of use.
