Sumptuous notary's card cabinet in mahogany (circa 1900)

Sumptuous piece of professional furniture, a notary's filing cabinet in solid mahogany, in superb condition! This high-end model, made to a high standard, has a rare feature: it is equipped with 20 fully removable drawers. With their mahogany edges, metal reinforcements on the sides, and solid wood sides, they are beautifully crafted and also in excellent condition. They are arranged in two columns. The piece, adorned with a richly moulded cornice and a beautiful lower plinth, opens with two mahogany doors. The lock secures both doors simultaneously through a clever system. The key works perfectly, and the very aesthetic keyhole is thick and made of brass, set into the mahogany frame. The front compartments allow for the identification of stored documents before opening. All the black metal label holders are present; labels can be slid in from the back of the door (though it often looks better without labels). The sides of the piece are also richly panelled, and the overall patina, original, is magnificent. It is a beautiful mahogany, very dense and deep, which lights up with the slightest ray of sunlight, taking on a very warm hue leaning towards yellow.
