A 1990s “bocca” sofa designed by studio 65 and manufactured by edra in italy. The bocca sofa, also known as the lips sofa, is a design icon that has gained international fame for its playful and provocative design. The sofa was originally created in 1970 by the italian design collective studio 65 for the italian furniture brand gufram. The bold and sensuous shape of the sofa was inspired by the sensual lips of movie star mae west. Upholstered in bold red fabric, the sofa exudes both playfulness and elegance. The sofa’s curvaceous form is both inviting and comfortable, making it an ideal statement piece for any living room or lounge. The sofa remains in good, vintage condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina. It has some repairs to the fabric, old scratches have been wired closes. This can still be seen from up close, but keeps the sofa strong and ready for many years of use. We chose to keep the fabric original, apart from these small repairs the sofa shows almost no signs of use. The foam is still excellent and comfortable and the fabric remains very vibrant in colour!.
