Art Deco desk or side table or console

Charming art deco style desk. It is made of solid pine and has, on the right, two small drawers with their original ornate handle as well as, on the left, a notched band. The wood has been entirely sanded and left raw, with the exception of the top which has been protected with a colorless varnish (VOC A +). The interior of the drawers has been painted in a light shade (professional quality brand Unikalo - biosourced range - VOC A +) and the bottom lined with Italian paper with patterns evoking shells. Its dimensions allow it to be considered as a desk, but why not as a side table or a console. Advantage: the back of this desk is aesthetic and it can therefore be positioned elsewhere than against a wall (see photo). A timeless and warm piece that will find its place anywhere. NB: this item is an antique item sold second-hand and restored by hand. It therefore naturally presents irregularities as well as traces of time and its life. This is precisely what makes it charming and gives it a unique character. In particular on this desk: - The wood has some irregularities in color related to the dark wax that initially covered it, and some small, slightly bluish areas, inherent to the wood (see photographs). - The two drawers slide perfectly. You just need to exert a little pressure on the top drawer to close it as far as it will go. - The handles, cleaned and polished, show traces of pitting (see photographs). - The top shows various traces of use and scratches, a patina that testifies to its past (see photographs).
