Vintage brass & green metal lamp - mushroom / Art Deco

Superb vintage desk lamp, typical of the industrial and modernist design of the 1940s and 50s. It elegantly combines patinated brass and dark green lacquered metal, in a style reminiscent of Bauhaus or late Art Deco creations. Its large, flattened, circular, swiveling shade, mounted on a flared brass stem and a heavy base, gives it a simple and functional silhouette. The underside of the shade and the base have an authentic patina, attesting to its age and use. The switch is located directly on the base, next to the foot. This type of lamp was often used in the offices of engineers, architects, or artisans, and sometimes in French or German government buildings.
