Vintage indigo fabric. Authentic handmade indigo fabric, Mali-West Africa. Vintage fabric hand-dyed with a natural indigo pigment that comes from the indigo plant found throughout Africa. The dye is obtained from young leaves of the plant. Made from eight hand-woven cotton strips sawn together to complete the textile. Beautiful delicate pattern design on both sides that vary. Refrigerate at both ends of the fabric. This original African mudcloth was worn by the tribe. The cotton was hand-spun and is soft. Good condition of the ethnic fabric.
