Chest in denim blue with seat top

Period: 20th century. This wooden storage box has been completely redone with a new color and reupholstered seat. The chest-shaped bench is a convenient size for most rooms in the house and can also store a good number of things. It was painted in a matte denim blue (the paint is called sèvres blue but I think denim describes it better). The rectangular seat has been covered with a new foam cushion and a sophisticated textile with colors that perfectly match the paint; the fabric features delicate plants and flowers. The hinged lid is attached with a chain and has also been padded inside for a good finish. The construction is very solid as evidenced by the heavy truck. The bench has a working lock, but needs an additional explanation to avoid frustration: once the key is inserted to the end, turn completely to the right. Then, it is not necessary to turn completely to open and close; just quickly turn right to open/close again. Status: good. Restored and painted. Key not original. Dimensions: 63 cm long, 35 cm wide, 44 cm high, 10 kg.
