Chairs attributed to Isamu Kenmochi, Akita Mokko Edition, Japan 1970

Set of four chairs attributed to Japanese designer Isamu Kenmochi, circa 1970. Made from solid beech, these chairs feature a dark varnish finish that highlights the quality of the wood and the rigor of the line. The backrest consists of five slightly curved vertical uprights, and the seat is covered in brown leatherette, originally stretched, in a sober and functional style. This model embodies the understated elegance of Japanese furniture from the 1960s, driven by the approach of Isamu Kenmochi, a key figure in modern design in Japan.
