This bamboo basket is a flower basket from the end of the Meiji era (hanakago) specifically designed for ikebana, the Japanese art of floral arrangement. Woven from smoked bamboo (susutake), the basket has a rounded shape, topped with a tall arched handle. Flat bottom with a diameter of 20 cm on a small circular foot of 13 cm.
