Small Tambour Table in Mahogany, Louis XVI style – Late 19th century

Circular drum table in mahogany, in the Louis XVI style, topped with a veined grey Carrara marble set in a moulded frame. This piece of furniture features a drawer with a front decorated with a bronze fitting forming a wide frieze of scrolls adorned with foliage. A chiselled brass pull knob enhances the centre. The table also opens with an elaborately carved door, decorated with golden rosettes located in Greek-style corners. A chiselled brass pull knob is also present. On either side of the door, the table has pilasters sculpted with fluting, which can also be found at the back. The whole rests on fluted column legs, accompanied by fluted and leafed rings at the top and bottom. A stretcher with concave sides connects the legs, which end in hoofs. ******** Period: Late 19th century. Excellent condition after restoration in our workshop. Waxed finish.
