Rare chandelier has 3 branches in hammered wrought iron and base in repelled tole, by hugo berger stamped goberg, viennese sessecionist movement around 1900. This superb avant-garde wrought iron chandelier has a brown patina on the barrel and golden patina on the candlesticks as well as on the base. The central branch and the 2 arms are enclosed by a claw, the 2 arms are riveted to the body of the candlestick. The base is made of repelled sheet metal and has a golden patina. The barrel is riveted to the base. The raw aspect of this work of the master viennese goldsmiths, gives this candle holder a special charm and exudes authenticity. Stamped goberg on the reverse of the base. The viennese sessecionist movement is a turning point in the history of art and architecture. Indeed, artists such as klimt, josef hoffman, koloman moser, etc. Are the instigators. He broke with the art of the 19th which remained intended for an elite and was rooted by the use of noble materials and turned to the use of materials such as iron, concrete, glass so that the greatest number could enjoy it.
