Splendid mixed media on panel, a landscape created by Timoteo Pérez Rubio (1896–1977) during his exile in Brazil. It depicts an urban scene with a garden, a metal fence, nearby buildings, and a large tree in the background. The artist uses only four colours—green, grey, brown, and black—in various shades to compose the scene. The brushwork is rapid except for the well-defined black fence. The background features patches of colour to suggest distant, lush vegetation. The artist's career evolved from French Impressionism to avant-garde influences such as Cubism and Surrealism. This work comes from the estate collection of Timoteo Pérez Rubio and Rosa Chacel and has been exhibited at the Extremaduran and Ibero-American Museum of Contemporary Art. The frame is included as a complimentary gift.
