Antique Persian Bidjar Rug, 1930s, 205x135 cm

Hand-woven antique persian bidjar rug. Made around 1900 by kurdish tribes living in western persia. Hand made of 100% wool on a cotton warp. The rug is woven with a very tight and strong weave, it was made on a double bond, which makes its fleece in perfect condition despite the passage of time. Persian bidjar rugs are among the rugs widely regarded as the most durable in the world and have always been called "persia iron carpet". Preserved in very good condition with a beautiful patina. As befits ancient persian products, the shape of the carpets is not perfectly regular, so the sizes given are approximate. I fit perfectly in both antique and designer interiors.
