Pair of chairs by Paolo Buffa

After graduating the Politecnico of Milan native, Paolo Buffa (1903-1970) has worked in the office of Gio Ponti for awhile. Before long, he embarked on a solo career. During the 1930s Buffa has attracted a large number of mainly rich clients, designing houses and interiors. In 1940, he was invited by the King of Albania to design the Interior of his royal palace. And in 1951, he received his second royal commission when King Farouk of Egypt asks to see the inside of his yacht. A few years later, Buffa received another remarkable naval order, when he was responsible for designing interiors for the liner Leonardo da Vinci.
