Large antique Bukhara carpet (300X375cm)

Magnificent large Boukhara/Turkmen rug from the 1950s/60s, entirely hand-knotted in wool, featuring patterns composed of rows of octagonal geometric medallions (called guls) repeated throughout the central field, surrounded by a finely crafted border. It showcases a harmonious and warm palette combining shades of brick red, burgundy, beige, cream, and touches of black to highlight the contrasts. The ends are finished with lovely well-preserved white fringes. The borders and corners are impeccable. The rug shows some wear in its centre, which does not detract from its charm and beauty, enhancing its authenticity. Dimensions: 300X375cm.
