Wooden card box

This charming blond wooden box, probably from the 1960s, has a latch at the front and a removable oblique dividing board inside. I don't know what it could be used for, in general this kind of box was used to classify cards, but this oblique separation leaves me perplexed. Its originality also lies in the “cut” between the lid and the box, also oblique and there I think I have an idea: this cut lightens the lid and therefore ensures that the box does not tip backwards under the weight of the open lid, without requiring the presence of a metal reinforcement found in certain boxes of this type, it's clever! I cleaned it carefully then gave it a thin coat of glossy varnish to protect it for its future life. It is in very good general condition, functional latch, solid box but does not hide some signs of its six decades: small stains, marks and scratches. It measures 15 cm wide, 23 cm high and 22 cm deep. The interior dimensions are 12.5 by 20 for a height of approximately 21 cm.
