Louis XV period secretary in marquetry and veneer, 18th century. Charming Louis XV period writing desk, opening with a top drawer, a drop front revealing an interior fitted with small drawers and compartments, as well as a lower section with two doors. The front is elegantly curved, decorated with beautiful geometric marquetry in light wood framed by darker woods. Finely chiselled bronze fittings adorn the handles and lock entries. The top is made of veined grey marble, original to the piece. The interior, in red wood, is practically organised with its small drawers and compartments intended for writing and document storage. The slightly curved legs end in graceful bronze sabots. A refined piece of furniture, typical of 18th century France, combining elegance, functionality, and fine craftsmanship. Approximate dimensions: Height: 145 cm. Width: 85 cm. Depth: 37 cm. Condition: Good overall condition, with some minor restorations and light wear to the varnish, consistent with the age of the piece.
