Superb and authentic round antique soup tureen in earthenware (also serving as a large presentation vegetable dish) from the Faïencerie Nouvelle de Givors (France), dating from the 1950s. It features a magnificent and highly sought-after geometric decoration with large check patterns in Scottish/Vichy style, hand-painted. The design combines dark green and burgundy/dark pink stripes on a cream background, creating a stunning gradient effect typical of the "chic bistro" and Mid-Century retro style. The piece is complete with its original lid featuring a central handle and has two elegant molded side handles. Condition: • Very good vintage condition: The glaze of the tureen and its lid retains a superb surface shine, with very fresh and bright colors. • No major cracks, no restoration. The interior is clean. Light and completely normal signs of use or age under the handles and on the base, attesting to its authenticity and age. Characteristics: • Manufacturer: Faïencerie Nouvelle de Givors (France) • Era: 1950s (Period stamp under the base) • Material: Glazed earthenware. • Pattern: Hand-painted Scottish/Tartan checks. • Included items: 1 soup tureen + 1 original lid.
