String wall shelf

Pretty wall shelf that we called a “string shelf”. Very light, modular, it was very fashionable in the 60s. It comes in 8 parts (3 shelves to be inserted on 3 “bases” made of thin black lacquered metal rods, themselves to be inserted between the two uprights made of black lacquered metal rods). gold metal) and only stands upright when hung on the wall (using 2 hooks not supplied which are inserted between the two rods of each upright). The shelves are made of thin panels of recomposed wood. I removed the (adhesive) covering from the shelves and cleaned off the glue residue. It's up to you to dress the shelves with adhesive paper or something else (wallpaper why not?) to your liking. The metal parts are in good structural condition, still very solid (the shelf carried many pocket-sized books when I found it), but the gilded uprights show the patina of time: less gilding, pitting from corrosion, they might deserve a coat of gold lacquer. The horizontal parts had gaps in the original black lacquer, I repainted them. The composite material of the shelves is in good general condition, solid, does not crumble. It measures 60 cm in height, 49 cm in width, 17 cm in depth and weighs 1.2 kg.
