Sandstone lamp base by jacky coville. Excellent condition with no cracks or chips. Signature present. Delivered without lampshade. Jacky Coville: born March 20, 1936 in Sèvres. After a career as an aeronautical engineer, he abandoned his design office to devote himself to ceramics. In 1976, Jacky Coville bought, in Biot, the workshop of Roland Brice who was Fernand Léger's ceramist. Jacky Coville has been exhibiting since the 1970s, in France and around the world. His works have been presented since 1976 in Japan, Germany, Belgium and are regularly exhibited in Italy. With numerous awards, such as the gold medal of Faenza or that of Vallauris, his sculptures are often exhibited in situ, such as at the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Nice or in the Saint-Sulpice Fountain in Paris, but also acquired by major institutions (frac ile-de-france, national library of france, museum of decorative arts of paris, museum of sèvres, etc.).
