Description
This authentic glazed gargoulette benefits from a very unique workmanship. It is a unique and exceptional piece. Its magnificent glaze on the upper part gives it a remarkable shine. Superb patinated shade, subtly mixing ocher, orange and yellow colors. This traditional gargoulette (also called jar, water jug or botijo) in beautifully glazed terracotta, was originally used to refresh water or wine, by the principle of evaporation through the porous clay. The lower part of the jug was buried to keep the contents cool. Previously used by farmers in the fields, today this beautiful vintage french jar is highly sought after because of its rustic charm and its rich glaze, which is decorative, rare and original. The narrow spout allows the jet to be directed directly to the back of the throat, while generally keeping the spout away from the mouth. To be very easy to handle and robust, it is equipped with a large flat handle. This decorative object is a testimony to artisanal know-how in a very good state of conservation. Generous and organic shapes, perfect proportions. Very characteristic original pouring spout. Old object in very good state of conservation. No chips or defects.
