Set of 2 pastel drawings by the artist Atelier Cléophée (2023) Unique works 50 X 18 cm (each work) - 52 X 25 cm (each work with its frame) Signed on the back. Atelier Cléophée is a visual artist based in Paris, specializing in the art of pastel, inspired by design, crafts, fashion and travel (notably Provence as here, Italy or Brazil). Made in dry pastel – a medium known for its ability to reveal the finest nuances – these 2 works draw their inspiration from the mineral landscapes of the Sentier des Ocres, a natural site located in Roussillon, in the Luberon in Provence. Formerly an ochre mining area, this place is today famous for its brightly colored cliffs, ranging from yellow to deep red, including orange, purple and more earthy hues. By blending pastels of yellow ochre, copper, sienna, purple, and olive green, the artist recreates a sensitive geography of the place, translating the chromatic richness of the ochre quarries and hills. Her graphic approach is rooted in a reflection on our connection to the natural elements and the planet's fragile resources. She evokes, through these layers of pigmentary material, a geological and sensory memory. This work is part of a broader research around the Anthropocene and sustainability issues, while leaving room for the dreamlike quality that these landscapes awaken. Carefully framed, these two pastel works are ideal for warming and bringing life to a living room, bedroom, or office. Ready to hang on the wall or place in a bookcase. Add a touch of elegance and contemporary art to your interior.
