Vintage engraved brass box and bowl – Damascene Islamic art

Elegant two-piece set made of solid brass, handcrafted in the tradition of Islamic art known as “Cairoware” or neo-Mamluk style, probably from Egypt or Syria, circa 1900–1940. The round box with a domed lid is adorned with finely engraved Arabic calligraphy, framed by interlacing and geometric friezes with silver and copper inlays. The accompanying bowl features a shiny polished interior and an exterior decorated in the same spirit. These pieces showcase refined craftsmanship, characteristic of Middle Eastern workshops of that era. Perfect for a shelf, a cabinet of curiosities, or Orientalist decor.
