Pierre Girard, Paysage de campagne, watercolour, 1854

Beautiful countryside landscape in watercolor. Two people walk on a pontoon to their cottage with their dog. The colors are soft and the horizon seems blurry, which is one of the characteristics of the artist. We also discover many details such as the reflection of the characters in the water or the movement of the wind on the tall grass. Despite a certain realism of the whole, the treatment of the vegetation shows the beginnings of impressionism. This work was made in 1854 by the artist p.girard. Pierre girard is a great artist of the eighteenth century. His work "the colosseum of the palatine hill" dating from 1844 is in the louvre museum.
