Imposing portrait of a woman in plaster with a marbled patina, created by Henri Hanniet, a sculptor born in Ons-en-Bray (near Beauvais) and based in Ervy-le-Châtel (a little north of Tonnerre). A student of Henri Gréber (also from Beauvais) and Maxime Darley, Hanniet exhibited at the Salon des artistes français in the 1930s. This woman may be "No. 2255 - Mrs M. Vallet; plaster bust," exhibited at the 1938 Salon.
