The work offered for sale, is a vase of a refinement typical of the south of france. Attributed to jacques pouchain, this is an exceptional object, resulting from the know-how of one of the masters of ceramics of the twentieth century. Time has left no mark on this jewel. It was shaped during pouchain's apprenticeship, at the commandery's workshop nestled in the village of le poët-laval. In the earthenware factory of poët-laval, he learned ceramics. In 1958, he opened his own ceramic workshop and produced a utilitarian production of unique pieces with figurative motifs engraved in the earth and enamelled with brown and black tones. In parallel with utilitarian ceramics, he creates a personal and stylized work, momentarily using manganese oxide placed on a white enamel in the early 60s.
