Set of 8 old asparagus plates that can also be used for artichokes. The series is called 'récamier' and was made by the famous french earthenware manufacturer 'u&c sarreguemines & digoin', in terre de fer. The white ivory ceramic is decorated, by navy blue transfer, by a decoration of flowers and foliage. There is a hollow in the plate to dip the sauces (butter, hollandaise, vinegar, etc.) with a subtle embossed pattern on top. Diameter: 23 cm. Height level rim: 3.5 cm. Weight of a plate: between 470 and 500 grams. Total weight: 3920 grams. Each of the plates is stamped: "récamier - u&c - sarreguemines & digoin" and numbered. Good condition of the structure of the plates. No impact, no crack or chipping, no weakness. Aging appearance, the white enamel is more or less yellowed, stained. Some plates are very yellowed.
