Pair of gilt bronze candlesticks signed Alfred Daubrée (1817 - 1885) with the initials AD enhanced with a star. Napoleon III period, late 19th century. Pieces finely chiseled with flowers and branches, baluster shaft mounted on a canted base chiseled with a leafy frieze. Each candlestick measures 14.5cm in height and the diameter of the base is 11cm. They can be used in their original purpose or transformed into lamp bases. Alfred Daubrée is a sculptor born in Nancy, died in Paris. Goldsmith in Nancy then dealer of art bronzes and jewelry on Montmartre in Paris.
