Floor lamp by Angelo Brotto, Italy 1950s

Incredible sculptural mid-century modern floor lamp by Italian designer Angelo Brotto from the 1950s. This floor lamp is made of black steel with brass elements, a white lampshade featuring lovely colourful geometric patterns, and a white-grey marble base. The lampshade pattern includes the typical mid-century modern colours: black, red, blue, and yellow. The lamp has three E27 sockets. Angelo Brotto (1914-2002), a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice in 1941, received a significant commission from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that same year to create frescoes in Montenegro. He participated in numerous Biennales, and his creations were quickly celebrated at many exhibitions. Materials: marble, plastic, steel. Origin: Italy. Period: 1950 – 1959.
