Malle plate Héloïse

Here is an old flat wooden trunk with beautiful brass fittings that have retained their shine. It may even have been, judging by its balanced dimensions, a true luxury trunk in the sense of chests inspired by military luggage. But here, whatever its name, this trunk offers remarkable elegance, with hints of luxury without excess. It is therefore a trunk of already considerable dimensions. The three-point locking mechanism on the front is in itself a sign of a quality and robust piece, which is confirmed by the excellent condition of this superb item. Here, it is the sturdiness that is emphasised. The beautifully gilded protective bars have a certain aesthetic appeal, and the brass corners stand out harmoniously against this black decor with brown edges. Inside, this trunk also features a kind of period upholstery in perfect condition. This is rare. Just as rare are the beautiful traces of the journeys taken, embodied under the trunk by lovely period labels. This trunk-chest is a valuable addition to vintage decor and also offers a perspective on storage that its volume makes precious. This chest is old, probably from the first half of the 20th century.
