This kettle is a perfect example of the streamline design movement. Jean picquot designed this kettle for burrage and boyd in 1938 and the company planned to release it. Unfortunately the war came in between and they had to switch to manufacture spitfire airplane and bomb parts instead. In 1946 after the war it was finally released and became an instant hit. The company metallurgy division invented a magnesium-aluminium alloy that they named magnalium. This is what the kettle is made of. Good vintage condition, some signs of age and use, for example on the wooden parts, as seen in the pictures.
