Description
Period: ca. Late 19th century these tables can be used as side tables or bedside tables. The oval bodies have three small drawers and rest on slender legs. These curved, shouldered and fairly straight legs are typical of the transitional style between louis XV and louis XVI. The trays have a plating pattern and a brass edge. The bodies are inlaid with different types of wood; one of the tables is paler than the other (probably due to a sunny location). The fronts are decorated with brass caryatid appliques and the front legs have brass corner 'bronzes'. Condition: fairly good antique condition. The tables are fit for use without much obvious damage. They have wear corresponding to their age as well as previous repairs: opening between the joints of the apron and the front leg, small defects in the veneer, small repair with a nail in a drawer, oxidation on the brass appliques (take a good look at all the photos where I tried to capture as many flaws as possible) dimensions: 70 cm high, 43 cm long, 33 cm wide, 5 kg each shipping note: the tables will be shipped in two separate boxes. The price listed for shipping is for both boxes.
