Pair of vintage minimalist "Pia" chairs by Poul Cadovius for Royal Persiennen, Denmark

This set of 2 vintage Danish 'Pia' dining chairs was designed by Poul Cadovius for Royal Persiennen in 1958. These minimalist 'Pia' chairs are originals from the first series, manufactured in the late 1950s and early 1960s in Denmark. Royal Persiennen also produced the first edition of the famous 'Royal System' shelving system, also designed by Poul Cadovius in the same year. The Pia chairs have a teak frame with conical shaped legs and classic wooden joints. The backs are made of molded teak plywood. Both chairs have original hand-woven rope. No labels or stamps on the chairs.
