Pitcher simone larrieu

France - 1939-1950. Very rare and original pitcher with double handle in hand-painted ceramic simone larrieu. Signed at the base of the rumen. Simone larrieu (1912-1996) is a great french ceramist. His works are particularly rare on the market and are highly sought after, due to a low production and a high quality of realization. Simone is the daughter of octave larrieu himself a ceramist, with whom she worked in a small workshop they created in 1930 in maubourguet in the hautes-pyrénées. His father was rather focused on the forms, and simone on the decorations because he was also a watercolorist. Many pieces signed by octave have a decoration made by simone. It was in 1939 that she opened her own workshop in gironde without completely abandoning the family workshop. She devoted herself more to painting at the end of the second world war.
