Wooden turned covered pot – vintage snuff box A680

Very beautiful antique turned wooden piece, with a particularly decorative character. This lovely cylindrical pot features a very nice warm brown wood, with honey reflections, a superb patina, and remarkable turning work: the body is rhythmically adorned with numerous horizontal fluted grooves, and the lid is topped with an elegant spherical knob that is also turned and fluted. Signed MR under the base. The shape resembles an old snuffbox/tobacco pot, although I cannot assert this with certainty. It can also be repurposed today as a lovely storage box or simply displayed as a decorative object. A piece full of charm, with the small marks and nuances of time that contribute to its authenticity and patina. The pot is in very good overall condition, with a beautiful wood patina. The lid is in good condition, the interior is clean and odourless. Height, including the lid: 15 cm Depth: 9 cm Diameter of the base: 11 cm Diameter at the top: 10.5 cm Diameter of the opening: 8 cm Weight: 400 g.
