Vintage 50s Italian brass sculptural floor lamp, heart shaped shade, bark finish

Offered for sale is a slender vintage floor lamp in solid brass, dating from circa 1955. This Italian piece features a finely hand-decorated base and a unique heart-shaped lampshade with an extruded body. The main body has a peculiar 'gear' section, while the base and shade are smooth with an interesting 'bark' decoration, reminiscent of the sculptural works of Arnaldo Pomodoro. The lamp is very well preserved, maintaining a shiny appearance with a rich, even, and pleasant patina that confirms its vintage origin. It is in full working order and has been rewired at some point, currently operated through a dimmer sliding switch.
