Mid-century popular art table with double-sided drawer - 19th century. Magnificent rustic mid-century table made of solid wood dating from the 19th century, full of charm and authenticity (popular art style / country furniture). This unique piece features a superb original polychromy: a robust base painted in aged burgundy red and an elongated octagonal top painted in fir green. Its main feature lies in its central traversing drawer (double-sided) mounted on slides, which glides and opens fully from both sides of the table. The inside of the drawer reveals a beautiful raw patina with traces of an old sky blue paint. Perfect as a side table, central console, characterful small desk, kitchen table, or trade piece in a chic country, antique, or contemporary decor. Characteristics and condition. • Period: 19th century. • Shape: Octagonal top with cut corners. • Structure: Flared base connected by a central stretcher in the shape of a spoon. • Condition: Very good cosmetic and structural condition. The piece is perfectly stable. The drawer glides well. Note the presence of a few chips and natural paint loss on one edge (visible in the photos), as well as some discreet minor losses on the legs, which give it all its patina. Healthy wood. Dimensions. • Length: 89 cm. • Width: 70 cm. • Height: 75 cm (Ideal standard height for sitting comfortably and using as a desk or dining table).
