Bresse Pitcher – Floral Explosion. A breath of sunshine from Bresse: this generously shaped pitcher features a hand-painted design with large, vibrant red, blue, and white petals and vibrant yellow accents. Each line exudes the folk craftsmanship of Burgundy potters who, as early as the 1950s, were coloring interiors with their joyful earthenware. With its generous, almost dancing shape, it can just as easily accommodate a bouquet of wildflowers as it can stand alone as a statement piece on a shelf. A favorite for lovers of vibrant ceramics and houses that tell stories. Stamped Poterie de Bresse, 1950s–1960s. Vintage condition: chips from use on the neck, no loss of enamel on the design. Height 16 cm, diameter 16 cm with the handle. The BRESSE signature on these blue floral pitchers is a regional mark more than the signature of a single potter. It indicates local production in the popular Bresse tradition, often produced by 20th century artisan workshops.
