Magnificent British swan-neck chaise longue from the Second Empire mid/late 19th century (1850 - 1880). The bench has been remarkably well preserved, the wood still retains its beautiful patina and its fabric, although slightly faded in one place, has retained its former shine. The structure was made of mahogany with a curved back. The swan neck uprights are slightly upside down, the legs are tapered, all upholstered with a silky fabric ranging from empire green to duck blue dotted with maple leaves in the pattern. Note the remarkable work of the molded and carved wood which combined with this majestic fabric gives it a singular line for a noble and unique style. This chaise longue highlights the authentic heritage of British furniture, its elegance and its know-how of the time. Dimensions: l 172 x d 60 x seat h 47 x total h 87 cm.
