Painting Oil on canvas circa 1935 - Marine, summer landscape of Brittany - signed Léon LAUNAY

Between land and sea, towards the open sea. Good morning. I am offering this old impressionist work of large dimensions and in perfect condition representing a lively seaside in Brittany, probably in the Morbihan region (56). This authentic work is signed Léon Launay (1890-1956), a painter listed and listed on the art market (see photo n°8). This painting is also countersigned by the painter on the back of the original frame (see photo n°7). Chassis dimensions: 50 cm X 100 cm. Frame dimensions: 65.5 cm X 115.5 cm. This luminous and typical work by this artist has the ideal dimensions to represent a seaside landscape. The work had to be restored like all old works, it was cleaned by a professional, then an anti-UV satin varnish ( sennelier) was applied. 1 cm tie rods were glued on all 4 sides in order to tighten the canvas correctly. These tie rods are not visible on the back of the canvas because they are covered by a beveled frame. Note some small, inexplicable white spots on the surface on the back of the canvas, these spots are perhaps original and do not devalue the work. The canvas has been reoxygenated. The frame is original with the greatest certainty. It has also been completely restored identically by a professional (glued, nailed and stapled). After cleaning, a light “white lead” type covering was applied, revealing the color of the original wood. The whole, ready to hang, is particularly robust. Please note: due to the large dimensions and the total weight of the packaging, the sending of this work is planned with the carrier chronopost at the current rates.
